What is inside the repair kit?
An FSC repair kit is the complete set of original FSC certificates BMW issued for your VIN at the factory — pulled from the official database, not generated. The ZIP contains FSC files with signatures, certificates (DER) and descriptor XML files for every feature your car left the factory with: navigation map activation, plus any other enabled options.
Because these are the genuine factory files, they are accepted by the head unit exactly like the originals — no patched signatures, no compatibility lottery.
When do you need a repair kit?
- ✓ Head unit replacement — a used or new unit must receive the factory FSC set for the vehicle VIN
- ✓ Retrofits — CIC/NBT to NBT EVO or MGU conversions, where the donor unit carries the wrong certificates

What it cannot do: a repair kit restores exactly what the car had from the factory. It cannot add options the vehicle never had — for example CarPlay on a car without the factory preparation.
